My first international article
Vim or Vi are the scariest thing for Linux newbies. They fear it as much as they fear the crocodile or tiger or the King Cobra.
The ability of Vim to scare people off is the precise reason I chose it as a good item for my first international foray into tech writing.
I sent a table of contents to a guy by name Doc Searls in LinuxJournal and after the editing phase I wrote an article and got paid. It was first of several articles I cover in this twitter thread.
Vim as an editor
An editor’s job is to help you enter, modify or manipulate text in some form. The text is loaded into a temporary buffer in main memory and edited before getting written into permanent storage.
